I am currently a junior at LSU. Until this past semester, I had been an Elementary Education major. I really enjoyed education when I first entered the program. However, after studying for 2.5 years, I decided it just was not for me and I did not want to spend the rest of my life in a career I was not passionate about. I felt very stuck and had no idea what direction I wanted to go. As required by my previous major, I took GEOG 2050 and I loved it. I took a couple more geography classes as electives and decided that it was the direction I wanted to go in. I do not really know what I want to pursue as a career, but I do know that I love learning all about geography. After watching close to one thousand YouTube videos, I found myself to be much more interested in Human Geography than Physical Geography. Like everyone else, the true reason I am taking this course is because it it required to receive a Geography BA degree. However, I feel like everything in life happens for a reason and there is a reason, other than just a course credit, that I am here. I am hoping this class expands my knowledge and love for the subject of Geography.
